Not much snow to report with just 3cm on the snow station this morning, but the sun is out so it will be worth buying a lift pass for the views alone! It is a very cold morning so make sure you wear an extra layer or two if venturing outside and especially those of you heading out for skiing and snowboarding. Temperatures are as low as -12c on the mountain and down to -20c with the wind chill. With temperatures expected to get still colder in the coming week and daily snow on the Niseko weather forecast, epic conditions await!
19th January 2023
3cm of fresh snow and bluebird views from JSE snow station across to Niseko ski resort.
You can always run inside and grab a hot chocolate to warm up!
Snowy conditions in Niseko Grand Hirafu yesterday morning.
Whiteout alert!!!! Make sure to consult a Niseko trail map and don’t get lost 🙂
Watch out for falling snow!!! While it is super cold now, Niseko has seen warmer days in the past month than is usual at this time of year causing freeze thaw to destabilise things a bit (and not only on the mountain!). So if you’re heading into the Niseko backcountry it’s worth taking that bit of extra care.
