It has been a tough few days by Niseko standards as we went 4 straight days without any fresh snow! However, that changed overnight with a 29cm being delivered, at least 25cm more than we expected! The temperature has dropped again – it was -6c at 8am here at the Japan Ski Experience snow station – and the snow that has fallen is incredibly light and dry.

Even though a lot of snow has fallen in the last 12 hours, we would still recommend exercising caution on the mountain today as the ground underneath the fresh snow will still be quite hard. Nevertheless, it is great to see everything covered in snow again and conditions for skiing and snowboarding will be great. More snow is forecast to fall over the next few days so let’s hope the second half of the month is more in keeping with what we expect for this time of year here in Niseko.
