5cm of extremely light, dry powder snow has fallen since yesterday and the temperature at 8am this morning was a chilly -8c. Snow conditions are currently as good as it gets. Less snow has fallen overnight than the day before, but the quality is incredible – the sort of snow that you can blow off your car.

Yesterday saw the opening of several gates providing access to the various Niseko backcountry areas and this included the hike to the peak of Mt Annupuri. Needless to say hundreds of intrepid skiers and snowboarders took on the challenge and were rewarded with bottomless powder turns all the way back down to the bottom.
