Another snowy day and night in Niseko has seen 23cm of new snowfall recorded, with a temperature of -5ºc at 8am this morning. It has been an incredible start to the month of February with a metre of snow falling in the first 4 days alone, and a current accumulation of over 170cm! Needless to say conditions for skiing and snowboarding have been fantastic for the last week with all Niseko ski resorts being blessed with consistent quantities of light, dry powder snow. If you are already in Japan, many of the best Niseko accommodations still have great availability for the rest of this month.
This looks like being the last big snowfall for a few days – time to catch up on the snow clearing! – but we are due another delivery of classic Niseko powder at the weekend so keep your eyes open for more Niseko weather reports and forecasts.
