Central Snowsports
Central Snowsports Hakuba operates three conveniently located stores in Happo, Echoland and Wadano, and services Hakuba Valley with complimentary pick-up and drop-off for fitting and collection.
Choose from two rental packages:
- Regular – Ideal for beginners to lower-intermediate skiers and riders looking for reliable, budget-friendly gear.
- Demo – Premium equipment from leading brands including K2, Line, Volkl, Head, Ride, Nordica, Tecnica and Blizzard.
Both packages include one free equipment swap between skis and snowboard. Rentals are available from 13:00 the day before your hire period, with free delivery and shuttle service for fittings and collection. See Central Snowsports rates.
Rhythm Hakuba
Rhythm operates two conveniently located stores in Wadano and Happo, with free pick-up and guest shuttle for fittings and returns. Kids’ rates apply for ages 13 and under. Choose from two rental packages:
Standard – Suited to beginner and lower-intermediate skiers and riders looking for reliable, good-value equipment for groomed runs. Includes unlimited swaps between skis and snowboard.
Premium – Features the latest skis and snowboards each season, from carving models to wide powder skis, with the flexibility to swap equipment or try different models daily.
Equipment can be collected from 13:00 the day before your hire period. Guests who pre-book with Rhythm can skip the check-in process and fast-track equipment collection during an exclusive pick-up window from 13:00–15:00. See Hakuba Rhythm Japan rental rates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to book my rentals in advance?
You should book rentals in advance, especially for peak periods. Pre-booking secures availability and speeds up the in-store process so you can pick everything up when you arrive.
Can I swap between skis and a snowboard?
Yes. You may swap between skis and snowboard once per day at Rhythm and once per rental at Central Snowsports.
What if my boots don’t fit properly?
If your boots or equipment aren’t comfortable, contact the rental shop as soon as possible. They can swap your gear out so you can get back on the slopes quickly.
Which rental package should I choose?
Beginners and casual skiers should choose the Standard package. Intermediate and advanced skiers, or anyone planning to ski powder, should choose the Premium or Demo package.
Can my equipment be delivered to my accommodation?
No. Equipment must be fitted in person for comfort and safety. Pre-book your rentals and collect them after 13:00 on the day before your hire period.
Can I rent helmets, clothing, and accessories?
Yes. Helmets, jackets, trousers, and other accessories are available to rent in addition to skis and snowboards. You just need to bring your own goggles.
Can I add ski hire after booking my accommodation?
Yes. You can add rentals to your booking before your arrival.
