Which map should I use for skiing in Hakuba?
Browse through our list of resort maps and find the trail map for the resort you plan to ski at.
Where can I find backcountry access points on the map?
Backcountry gates are usually indicated with a “G” on the trail maps. There are gates set up at Goryu, Happo-one, Tsugaike, Hakuba Norikura, and Cortina, although they are not always marked on the maps. Always check current conditions, read the Hakuba Valley safety tips and consider hiring a backcountry guide before using any gates.
How can I get around Hakuba without a car?
Most guests use the Hakuba Valley shuttle buses to travel between resorts and village areas. The shuttle network covers the main ski areas and operates throughout the winter season. Check here for information on shuttle bus times.
Are printed maps available in Hakuba?
Yes. Printed trail maps and village maps are widely available at lift stations, tourist information centres, hotels and ski rental shops throughout the resort.
Are shuttle buses free in Hakuba?

Do all resorts connect by shuttle bus?
Yes. All ten Hakuba ski resorts are linked by the Hakuba Valley shuttle network on lines V1 and V2. Travel times vary depending on distance and conditions
