An impressive and very welcome 11cm of new snow has been recorded in the last 24 hours, most of which fell overnight. Today is the vernal equinox, otherwise known as the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. However, cold temperatures and fresh snowfall have made sure there is no sign of spring across the Niseko ski resorts today! With the possibility of 20cm+ of light powder snow higher up the mountain, conditions for skiing and snowboarding will be excellent today. Looking ahead we can expect more snow later today and tomorrow morning so get out there and enjoy the extended winter Hokkaido is famous for!
Today is the first day of spring in name only – it is cold & snowy in Niseko Hirafu with more snow forecast to fall over the next 24 hours!
