It’s a cold, cold morning in Niseko, -14ºc at 8am, and we can report 9cm of fresh snowfall since yesterday. The sun is out and indications are that the backcountry gates will open so there’s a good chance most people skiing and snowboarding in Niseko today will be heading straight for the peak of Mt. Annupuri for sunny powder laps, us included! More snow is forecast for later in the day so make the most of the bluebird conditions while the sun is out.
What a start to the day in Niseko! We don’t get too many sunny days in Japanuary so this is a welcome sight of the elusive Mt. Yotei.
