8cm of new snowfall has been recorded in 24 hours in Niseko Hirafu and the temperature at 8am was a cold -10ºc. We do not expect much snow to fall during the day today, but it should cloud over and start snowing again tonight. The forecast has a few windy days ahead so make sure to check the Niseko Avalanche Information if you are considering going through any backcountry gates. Don’t assume open backcountry gates mean safe conditions for skiing and snowboarding, especially in an area where the weather can change quickly!
Many cars have turned into mushrooms after the non-stop snow of the last few days in Niseko.
The Japan Ski Experience snow station is located in Niseko Hirafu at an elevation of 210m above sea level.
