We have 8cm of new snow to report in the last 24 hours and temperature at 8am was -5ºc. It is a wild and windy morning in Niseko. The anticipated snow did not materialise yesterday but snow is currently falling. The wind is strong so we expect the upper lifts to be on hold this morning but there will be plenty of good spots on the lower sections of the Niseko ski resort areas, especially if you can work out where the fresh snow is settling.
Strong winds mean low visibility for skiers and snowboarders in Niseko but snow is forecast all weekend and throughout all of next week.
The Japan Ski Experience snow station is located in Niseko Hirafu at an elevation of 210m above sea level.
