A whopping 25cm of new snow has been recorded in 24 hours, much of it falling during the daytime yesterday, and the temperature at 8am this morning was -8ºc. The sustained low pressure system continues across northern Japan with Niseko receiving close to a metre of fresh snow at village level this year already, meaning there is even more of the fluffy stuff higher up the mountain. Is Niseko the best ski area in Japan? Some of the Nagano and Niigata ski resorts might disagree after receiving even more snow the last few days! It is probably fair to say that wherever you are in Japan at the moment, conditions for powder skiing and snowboarding are as good as it gets!
Niseko residents have been digging out their cars at least twice a day so far in 2021. You’re never too young to start helping out!
You can see why having covered parking in many of our Niseko accommodations is a real perk! Save that energy for skiing and snowboarding!
The Japan Ski Experience snow station is located in Niseko Hirafu at an elevation of 210m above sea level.
