There are eleven onsens in Niseko that are open to the public for a small fee, with most under ¥1000. Most can be reached by public bus or the Niseko United Shuttle.

Best Onsens in Niseko

Below are some of the best and most well-known onsens in and around Niseko.

Hirafutei Onsen (Hirafu Village)

Centrally located in Upper Hirafu Village within Niseko Prince Hotel Hirafutei. The outdoor baths overlook Mt. Yotei and Niseko Annupuri. There is also a sauna available.

Yukoro Onsen (Lower Hirafu)

Located in the heart of Lower Hirafu, Yukoro Onsen has recently been rebuilt and now offers a modern setting while retaining its natural hot spring character. Indoor and outdoor baths provide a convenient and relaxing option within walking distance of much of Hirafu accommodation.

Hotel Kanronomori Onsen (Moiwa)

Overlooking the Moiwa ski area, Kanronomori features both indoor and outdoor bathing. It is around a 20-minute drive from Hirafu.

Kioina Yuyado Iroha Onsen (Annupuri)

In the quieter Annupuri area, this onsen features rock-lined outdoor baths with views of surrounding forest.

Yugokorotei Onsen (Annupuri)

Also in Annupuri, Yugokorotei is known for its soothing waters and large outdoor pools. Approximately 20 minutes by car from Hirafu.

Kiranoyu Onsen (Niseko Town)

Located opposite JR Niseko Station. Facilities include a Hinoki tub, Jacuzzi, sauna and outdoor pools. Very popular with locals inside a modern building in Niseko town.

Goshiki Onsen

Around 30 minutes from Hirafu, Goshiki Onsen is known for its traditional wooden structure and authentic atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor baths are available.

Niseko Grand Hotel Onsen (near Moiwa)

Accessible by car, this is the only mixed-bathing onsen in the Niseko area. Has a large outdoor bathing pool as well as indoor bathing pools.

Yukichichibu Onsen

About 25 minutes from Hirafu, Yukichichibu offers multiple indoor and outdoor pools. Its strong sulphuric waters are known for skincare benefits. The women’s side includes a natural mud bath.

Rankoshi Yusenkaku (Kombu / Rankoshi)

Located next to Kombu Station in Rankoshi, this onsen is popular with locals. Several baths feature different water types, each said to provide various health benefits. Both indoor and outdoor options are available.
