Hakuba Phoenix Hotel is located in the heart of central Wadano, Hakuba’s most popular accommodation district. Located right at the base of Happo One, the largest of the Hakuba Valley’s 10 ski areas, from world-class skiing to excellent dining options, this neighbourhood has it all. From the hotel enjoy easy access to a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars including the hotel’s very own Mimi’s restaurant and cocktail bar. More nearby options include Hummingbird Restaurant, Morino’s Pizza, Double Black Restaurant & Bar (for excellent happy hour) and both Tokyu Hotel and Mominoki Hotel’s array of in-house restaurants and bars. Rental stores and onsen hot-springs are all also located within easy walking distance from the Phoenix Hotel’s doorsteps.

In central Wadano, you’ll also find the main Rhythm Wadano rental store and the departure point for the Snow Monkey Tour. Just a short walk away is the winding streets of Happo village, where you’ll find a huge array of restaurants and bars to enjoy. Central Wadano also offers the closest possible access the Evergreen International Ski School, located at the Kokusai lift at Happo One, so is an ideal base for families and those taking lessons. Other resorts in the Hakuba Valley can be accessed easily via the free shuttle buses which stop in various locations throughout Central Wadano. Phoenix Hotel Hakuba guests also receive complimentary scheduled shuttles to select lifts, the Happo Bus Terminal and Hakuba Station, daily supermarket shuttles, as well as shuttle service to Hakuba Hospitality Group Restaurants.

Great facilities, helpful staff, very nice breakfast, a little further out of the centre which is nice but requires lifts when the roads are icy, some of the Hakuba Hospitality driers can go a bit too fast at times - but overall a great stay

Lovely hotel, great room and the staff were really efficient and helpful with my many questions. Shuttle service to Happo One and back twice a day, although you can walk easily to one lift in 8 mins. The local bus to other resorts leaves from the hotel next door, which is really convenient. The only downside to the hotel is the restaurant as it only does a taster menu for dinner (approx £180) so you have to go out to eat every night. Or you can get a pizza delivered!

We had a really memorable stay with the Phoenix hotel. The staff were so personable and took the time to make us feel welcome and navigate our way around Hakuba. We enjoyed a daily breakfast at Mimi’s restaurant every morning, there was a wonderful continental breakfast offered and in addition a full cooked breakfast! The room was a traditional Japanese room with a futon and we enjoyed ten hours plus sleep every night. The in house Onsen completed our cultural immersion!

Phoenix Hotel was the perfect location - within walking distance to ski lifts and many awesome restaurants. We used the onsen every day and loved the Japanese style rooms.
