Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an All Mountain Pass and an individual resort pass?
Individual resort passes are cheaper but only allow access to one ski area. An All Mountain Pass provides unlimited access to all four Niseko United resorts. It is the most practical option for most skiers and snowboarders considering the small difference in price.
Should I pre-book lift passes or buy them on the day?
Pre-booking is more convenient. You will avoid queues at the ticket counter and can go straight to the lifts. Japan Ski Experience can book your passes in advance and deliver them to your accommodation prior to your arrival.
Do non-skiers need a lift pass for gondola sightseeing?
Yes, you can buy a sightseeing ticket for the Annupuri Gondola and Niseko Grand Hirafu Ace Gondola at the ticket counters.
How do Niseko hourly passes work?
The 50-hour All Mountain Pass activates at the first lift gate scan, with one hour deducted immediately. Additional hours are only deducted when you pass through a gate after the previous hour expires. This pass suits skiers who plan shorter sessions each day. Timing your last lift ride near the end of each hour can help maximise value.
How do Niseko point passes work?
The 12-point pass is a flexible lift pass that deducts points based on the lift used. For example, the Family Chairlift costs two points. This allows up to six rides without buying a full-day pass. It’s a good option for occasional skiers and beginners who like to ski at their own pace.
Are there discounted passes for children and seniors?
Yes. All Mountain Pass prices are:
- Ages 4 to 12: ¥7,200
- Ages 13 to 15: ¥10,200
- Seniors 65 and over: ¥10,200
- Adults: ¥12,000
Are passes refundable if plans change?
No. All lift pass purchases are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-replaceable. This applies to all circumstances, including illness, injury, travel disruption, purchase errors, or weather conditions.
Where can I ski with a Niseko United All Mountain Pass?
The All Mountain Pass allows you to ride lifts at all four Niseko United resorts: Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu, and Hanazono.
Where can I ski with a Grand Hirafu pass?
A Grand Hirafu pass is valid for both Grand Hirafu and Hanazono combined. Separate passes for these two areas are not available.
Do Niseko day passes include night skiing?
Yes. Night skiing is included with all day passes.
If I buy a multi day Niseko lift pass, do I have to use it on consecutive days?
Yes. Multi-day passes must be used on consecutive days and remain valid until lifts close on the final day.
Will my pass be confiscated if I ski out of bounds?
Yes. Skiing outside resort boundaries will result in pass confiscation. Backcountry access is only permitted through the official gates marked on the Niseko United trail map.
Can I use an All Mountain Pass at Niseko Moiwa?
No. Niseko Moiwa is a separate ski resort and requires its own lift pass.
