Tokyo

Tokyo is the city of juxtapositions. Find a temple or shrine nestled between two skyscrapers. Or an Elvis impersonator riding the bus with a geisha. For most visitors, just walking around with a camera on your arm is the biggest part of the Tokyo experience.


Kyoto

Japan’s capital and the emperor’s residence from 794-1868, Kyoto is home to 14 UNESCO world heritage sites. Visit the gold-covered Kinkakuji temple, or the former residence of the shogun. Or take a stroll through the geisha district of Gion.

Sapporo

One of Japan’s newest and largest cities, Sapporo offers wide boulevards and modern buildings. The annual Sapporo Snow Festival attracts artists from around the world competing to create the largest and most elaborate artworks from ice and snow.
